Emergency Response Systems enable persons who live alone or who have medical conditions to summon assistance in emergency situations. Participants wear a small portable button which, when pressed, signals a live monitor at a monitoring center which has specific, personal information and can send assistance. Most systems have an installation charge and do not require a long term contract. All are billed on a monthly basis. There are many other national organizations (not listed here) who provide these types of services.
